ORLANDO, Fla – The 47th edition of the AAU Junior National Volleyball Championship, the sport’s premiere youth event, is set to run July 14-22 at the award-winning Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

A true volleyball showcase for the nation’s top boys and girls teams, the AAU Junior National Volleyball Championship has repeatedly showcased some of the best volleyball players in the nation. This year’s tournament is set to be a great experience for all participants with numerous mitigation and containment measures enacted to keep athletes and coaches safe.

“This year has truly been unprecedented for our AAU athletes, parents and coaches.  We must continue to work together to navigate this new reality and build a safe tomorrow,” said Dr. Roger J. Goudy, AAU President/CEO. “Through hard work, diligence, and great relationships with our local and state leaders as well as our health partners, we are thrilled to welcome attendees to the 47th year of this marquee tournament.”

Many of volleyball’s future stars are set to play in this year’s event. Age divisions range from 12U to 18U with a newly-added High School division set to take the floor this year.

With today’s global health concerns in mind, the AAU and the Orange County Convention Center will implement strict safety precautions, these include rigorous cleaning and sanitation measures to enhance daily routines already in place to promote a clean and healthy environment. More details on the sanitation strategy can be found here. Additionally, the courts will be disinfected daily. Additional hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the facility. The balls will be sanitized between each match.

Furthermore, the OCCC has applied Recovery and Resiliency Guidelines and received the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation on outbreak prevention, response and recovery. Recognized as the gold standard of safe venues, GBAC STAR™ provides third-party validation to ensure the implementation of rigorous protocols in response to ensuring a clean, safe and healthy environment and biorisk situations.

To accommodate those who wish to view the action, BallerTV will provide live stream coverage of each court’s games at a discounted price and promotion to the volleyball-loving community. For BallerTV-related questions, email support@ballertv.com.

Taking the opportunity to give back to the communities and families that help make the AAU magic happen, the organization has partnered once again with the Side-Out Foundation’s Dig-A-Thon to raise money towards stage IV breast cancer research. During last year’s Dig Pink Dig-A-Thon, more than $9,200 was raised with a donation made for each dig completed in action. This year’s Dig-A-Thon will take place during games held on Thursday, July 16 and Monday, July 20. We encourage all teams, coaches and chaperones to wear pink in support of the event.
